Hi there,kI went to the CIPD annual conference last week primarily to visit the various CIPD accredited training providers. It was really useful but I am now left with the dilema of which provider to choose!! I have spoken with Simon O'Neill in the DPG admissions section and he suggested I post a request here for feedback on what the course is like for those currently studying or recently qualified. Can anyone let me know how they have found the DPG-run Level 5 in HRM in terms of content, delivery, relevance, what is good and what could be improved. Any advice and feedback would be really appreciated. Thanks so much.Jason

  • Hi Jason,

I'm currently working through Level 5 HRM Diploma and I concur with Louise's sentiments. The depth of information sharing on the DPG Community is great and there are plenty of sources of further information and CPD for students. This has certainly helped me develop a broader understanding of current issues across other business sectors. The online modules are well presented and clear and the submission method is easy to use. I've only attended one workshop but it was great to meet like minded people. The facilitation was good and the feedback is honest and constructive.

I would just reinforce that you need to be organised with your time and be prepared to commit some evenings and weekends to reading and coursework however that would be the case in any learning activity.

Another vote for DPG. Good luck.

    Gary.

    • Thanks Gary for your feedback, that is really useful. Jason
  • Hi Jason,

I have just completed level 5 diploma HRM. The course was great, I would have no hesitation in recommending. The modules are all relevant and it is worth doing the diploma instead of the certificate. The learning materials were easily accessible and portable with the articulate app. This made the e lessons available to  be accessed on the move and at your own convenience. The workshops were really useful and I met a bunch of great people passionate about what they do. The assessments were broken down to a manageable workload and the learning support from facilitators was always available if you needed it.

Hope this helps you bite the bullet!

    • Thanks so much for taking the time to write. Several people have now stressed the benefits of taking the Diploma vs the Certificate so that is good to hear. I appreciate your time.

      • Hi Jason

Thanks for posting! I hung fire replying because as a DPG facilitator you could call me biased ;-) and I wanted to let you hear from the learners.

Just to add my opinion into the mix.  I have taught CIPD in various formats and I am a big fan of the DPG blended learning approach.  I am currently putting one of my own employees through the CIPD Level 5 Diploma and I have to say I had no hesitation doing this through DPG, the quality of the materials and on-going support which is provided is second to none.

        I hope this helps

        Good luck with your programme!

        All the best

        Sarah Loates
