    What I could share is that you would have start out by defining Why you want to do that exercise.  That is the determining factor for how you would do this and what you would be looking for.  You can always come back to the Why factor, the reason for doing this.   I think I gathered that in Management accounting for example, most things done are the way they are in order to enable making decisions for the organisation - whether the present or the future.  

    I think if you use this approach to your CPD it would be helpful. So that metrics are not done for the sake of it - but they are set up, gathered and analysed in a way that point forward rather than rear-wards.  Metrics that give you insight to be able to shape organisational strategy. If some or most of metrics gathered are not all valued or needed, what then would you focus efforts on?
