Hi,
I have just had feedback through from my last assignment that I need to report back.
The topic of interest was on Induction and I have to do a full summary of my findings and critically review each along with the reasons for selecting the sources and a full conclusion. To be honest, this was the one unit I was most worried about and want to make sure when I send the revised update through it doesn't come back!
The sources I used were
Xpert HR Induction Survey 2010 - Delivery and Information
ACAS - Starting staff induction Guide
Rethinking Staff Inductions (CIPD Podcast)
I am not really sure how to critically review each of these sources - what is the key information assessors are looking for?
Thanks

Hi Hayley
Thanks for your post, I found this resource here which takes you through a step by step guide of how to approach this

I hope this helps!

I'm not sure whether our briefs are the same, but here's some of the key things from when I did it...
When looking at the assessment brief asking you to critically review the sources, the assessor will be looking for you to tell them the advantages and disadvantages of the TYPE of secondary sources you have selected. E.g. Survey or Podcast. What are the pros and cons of each? If you have the e-lessons there are some good tips in there, but think about things like accuracy, relevance to subject, is it free from bias, is it up to date. When you have done this, you should be able to justify your choice of secondary resource that you use to underpin your report.
Hope this helps! Good luck :)
