Childcare Vouchers and Maternity Pay

Hi

I have looked into this on different sites and still can't find a straight forward answer so I am putting this out to all you lovely people on this community in the hope that you can help me!

I have just come back from maternity leave and was on Statutory Maternity Pay however I still had childcare vouchers deducted from this to cover my eldest childcare, are they allowed to do this?

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Rachel

  • Who is your child care voucher provider?  Mine is Kiddivoucher, with my account I can request that payments are reduced, increased or stopped entirely at my own request.  As long as I put my request through before the 5th of each month, the voucher company will contact our payroll for the change to be made that pay month.

    • Hi Jennifer

Its Computershare and I can amend my freely too its just someone had mentioned to me that as part of your maternity rights the childcare vouchers remain a benefit and shouldn't be deducted from maternity pay and implied that the company should be covering the cost. I keep finding conflicting information so was just curious as any extra pennies saved are a bonus when you have kids!
