Did anyone else here the CIPD mentioned this morning on the news? They have just published a report which finds that the majority of UK university graduates are working in jobs that do not require a degree, with over-qualification at "saturation point", you can read the news coverage here:

Yes I think you are right, I have been talking to a number of students who have recently received their A Levels and are deciding what to do next. Interestingly I find that parents are not really aware of the alternatives available to students nowadays and the CIPD yesterday also published a really useful report - Great Expectations - A Career Guide for Parents.

Also I totally agree with you that I am increasingly hearing that parents are actively advising their children not to follow them into Law - so it is interesting that you make that point. I hope something changes soon too, especially when you consider the levels of debt that students now leave University with (on average around £44,000).
