Crikey we were talking about this what seems a long time ago on the HR Zone and now we have the first case law ruling on Shared Parental Leave...... which not unsuprisingly (IMHO) ruled in favour of the employee.
http://www.personneltoday.com/hr/shared-parental-pay-sex-discrimina...
I was surprised to read that Network Rail have now 'remedied' this by paying Statutory pay for both maternity and Shared Parental Leave when previously they paid enhanced maternity pay I wonder if other companies will follow suit..........................
It will be interesting to read the ruling when it is published.
All the best
