Hi all,
I'm in the process of getting stuck into learning all about our HR Database. We have the SAGE50 HR package. The previous HR Manager did not use it at all - preferring to do everything via manual files and using her diary for keeping up with dates. I have therefore taken on what is in effect a blank database ( aside from the data that has been imported in from payroll). I'm determined to make use of it - we pay for it, so why not use it?
I've had a dabble, and I'm sure I'll be able to become relatively competent in it - it all seems to be quite intuitive to me. I also quite like it - though I'm still trying to figure out how to run a report on it! (any tips on that? I may well be missing something obvious)
I just thought it worth checking what you all think about HR databases - what do you use them for? Is there a clear 'winner' in the databases on offer?
Your thoughts would be very welcome.

Morning Steve
We are just implementing Sage payroll, HR, self service all singing all dancing system. We currently use Sage 50 for payroll and I have to say as far as payroll packages go its not the easiest.
This new system looks like it will be a lot more efficient and I am hoping to be able to get rid of some of my spreadsheets and to keep everyones personal details together as opposed to it all being in different areas.
I have used a few others Vizual Personnel which was not very good and Pegasus Opera which I loved as a system!
Will keep you posted on how I get on with this new Sage!
