Recently there has been a wave of media where HR issues has featured in the news for negative reasons.
It is often difficult to see beyond the soundbites which make headlines, and differentiate between reality and the facts of the case.
We explored a recent example of this in a workshop last week where Sports Direct tried to argue it was reported unfairly that an employee who gave birth in one of the work toilets and the inference this was linked to Sports Direct's six strike rule.
Now more than ever HR needs to consider the wider implications of actions which it advises on and ensures that the business considers these when determining its approach.
