Hi All,
Marketing and brand at my organisation are considering re-branding HR.
The argument for change
Most of the companies I have been speaking with or researching,” which include Cisco, Google, Glassdoor and LinkedIn, have all made “considerable strides in rethinking what the purpose of traditional ‘HR’ is, and all of these companies have moved on from looking at employees as capital assets,” he says.

Hi Andrew
Thanks for posting an interesting article.
So this article is talking about HR and re-branding in terms of how it is named within organisations. It feels a little emperor's new clothes to me but I understand how the function is keen to re-brand itself and demonstrate its value to organisational performance through employee engagement. I guess it is contextual and depends where you work I used to work in a heavily unionised environment where HR was HR but for some organisations Chief People Officer or Head of People Operations would suit more, I suspect however that objective wise the deliverables would be the same though!
All the best
Sarah
