I manage recruitment in a company where we have no ATS or recruitment systems other than Excel and saving CV's individually. I am really interested in how other people manage a talent pool when you have no searchable functions - do you just annotate excel with peoples skills and experience? Examples of trackers or how you manage talent pools woul be fantastic.

Thanks for your post.
In terms of Applicant Tracker Systems where I have worked previously we used a Database system, generally this was written bespoke for the business we had one called Global Talent and as you say it had search functions. There is lots of free software available where you they base it on the Freemium model you use it for Free until you are dependent on it and then need to pay for additional modules. I am currently using a CRM system for my business on this basis, so it may be worth searching the internet to see if there are any out there?
