The national minimum wage - too much of a good thing?

I caught this on Radio 4 last night and it is a fascinating insight into the history of the NMW, and also if this is sustainable for businesses in the future.

Paul Johnson, director of the Institute of Fiscal Studies, asks why left and right have both adopted this once controversial policy. And could the current bidding war of big increases undermine the positive effects it has had over its eighteen-year history?

Did you know that Winston Churchill championed the first minimum wage for specific roles??
