Evening all
So Phillip Hammaond delivered the longest budget speech in history yesterday, so what were the implications for HR?
Much is being made of the increase to the NLW from April 2019 as this represents a 5% increase which is ahead of inflation. In addition this will be significant for a business where the main cost are payroll costs. Especially given the knock on effect of the increae in hourly rate for entry level roles in an organisation versus salaried rates for say team leaders and junior managers, where comparisons may start to be made as the gap closes.

One of the other more significant HR issues in the budget is the proposed changes to IR35 being rolled out into the private sector:

Were there any budget specific items which impact HR in your organisation?
Please do share
