Working for the NHS

Hi

I have recently completed my level 3 HRM Certificate and have an interview coming up for a HR Advisor with the NHS.

I have done the usual research but was wondering if there is anyone on here who works for the NHS who has any tips on the format of the interview (I know it is competency based) and what are the main problems facing the NHS at the moment.  I know that there are a shortage of Drs and nurses and there is a lot of recruitment from overseas.  I know that there is a lot of collaborative working with local authorities.  Most people are aware of the issues with the Junior Doctor contracts and the strikes.  Is there anything else that I could be reading to help me prepare.

I would be very grateful for any help.  This will be my first interview for about 5 years so I need to prepare fully to prevent nerves getting the better of me.

Thanks

Diane
