Hi Everyone,
I am interested to learn how everyone monitors Working Time Regulations especially for off site staff that say they work excessive hours!
If they take time off on holiday or sick is that included in hours or deducted? and if anyone has a template they could share that would be great too.
Look forward to your thoughts as always
Thanks
Rachel

Hi Rachel,
Do they have tracking devices on company cars. My husbands work uses this facility at work and it is a great way of knowing where and how long employees are actually at where they say they are, although a little bit like big brother is watching you.
I found that asking them for a time sheet and detailed rota of work carried out - so that you can assess their workloads, tends to bring some reality back into it. It's easy for off site staff to claim they work excessive hours but a bit of recording of the actual hours may well reveal that it's not as bad as they say.
That said, if it does prove that they are indeed working excessive hours, the timesheets and rotas will be good evidence to recognise that with increased contractual hours or perhaps a need for extra staff to be recruited.
Cheers
Steve
Thanks Steve, just not sure my Sales staff would do it, have enough trouble getting them to fill in Holiday forms!
