Hi All,
We're launching a new leadership development programme in 2015 and have spent a lot of time putting it together. The programme runs from newly promoted managers, through developing managers, to our senior managers (level below our senior leadership team and exec) and looks a bit like this:
Level | Aimed at | Eligibility | Programme contents |
New Managers | Newly promoted managers or those who have had no formal management development | Less than one year in role, or no previous development | 2 day workshop, e-learning, 3 x soft-skill courses |
Developing Managers | Experienced managers who are looking to develop their career and build their capability | Two+ years in role | 4 module programme with pre/post work, e-learning, 2 x soft-skill courses |
Senior Managers | Senior managers with people responsibilities | Band 3, people management responsibilities | 360 assessment, 6 months programme, EQ workshops, coaching, action learning sets |
These are all then underpinned by our mentoring programme, our internal mandated Employee Relations workshops, and our wider corporate development offering.
What we're really struggling with is titles for the overall programme, and for the individual layers. The standard course titles seem a little outdated (Introduction to Management, Leadership Development Programme) and our internal behaviours/values don't really lend themselves to any titles.
So, does anyone have any imaginative ideas for programme titles? What have you used in the past?

Hi Dan,
Some i have used in the past include:
The (name of orgaisation) pathway programme
The navigator programme
The exelerator programme
The rising stars programme
Good luck

Learn
Engage
Apply
Perform
And the word LEAP itself can be used in many positive descriptions for evolution
Just a thought.
I like that Keith nice!
You want whatever the programme is to mean something and provide some sort of emotional attachment or powerful association. Introduction to Management won't float anyone's boat ;)
I like Keith's idea of an acronym - how about thinking of some thing around some feel good words
Engage
Inspire
Motivate
Lead
